Some of my first photography commissions were with Harper Collins photographing authors back in 2006. I launched my own business, Karolina Webb Photography, in 2008, on my return to the UK after a year spent living in China.

Now, I call Notting Hill my home, it’s where I have lived and worked ever since.  My favourite genre of photography is still shooting portraits. It’s become my specialism. 

My years, working as a dedicated photographer, have afforded me much time working with people in natural light. I am also vey tall, which I believe helps me with perspective.  I get excited by the suns energy and love shooting outdoors.  I understand the elements of weather perfectly and know how use light to create the most beautiful images.  My technical knowhow and relaxed manner mean my attention is focused on making my clients feel totally at ease in front of the lens.  This allows for more natural and spontaneous images, which has evolved as my distinctive style.

Whist I have been shooting Family Portraits and Headshots for many years, demand for Personal Branding has grown significantly in recent times and is now a major product in my portfolio.  Alongside that, while spending years documenting my daughter’s ballet journey, I discovered a passion for this beautiful art form myself, and now work with some of London’s top ballet schools documenting studio classes, shows and shooting dancers on location.  You can see my ballet portfolio on my dedicated website: BALLET SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHER

I sometimes wonder if I would have been doing what I do, if not for my daughter.

What started as a passion turned into a profession, one I feel privileged to be involved in.  For me, there is an amazing sense of fulfilment knowing I will find inspiration and excitement everyday of my work-life.  Each commission is different and brings with it opportunities to visit new places, meet new people and start new ventures.

Fast forward to now…I feel extremely proud of my daughter, who is a successful actress, and secretly hope my direction, photography and inspiration have helped her on her way (there is no doubt she is extremely talented).  I am so glad to have been by her side from the beginning, recognising her potential and not giving up, taking and orchestrating her headshots, running to auditions and then hanging out for hours on film sets with her.  Those precious moments were created from seeing what might be - not letting our dreams evade us but making them happen!
